The Story behind Wolf & Harp

History

Wolf and Harp is housed in the historic 1896 Judge William Jones house, nestled in the heart of Norway, Maine. Previously home to an intimate 24-seat restaurant, the estate has long been a place for connection and hospitality. Today, it continues that legacy as a beautifully restored venue designed for unforgettable gatherings.

Renovated in 2018, the 60x40 post-and-beam barn provides a stunning setting for weddings and events, while the historic mansion offers charming accommodations for a weekend stay. Whether you're planning an intimate gathering, a private dinner party, or a larger wedding celebration for up to 125 guests, Wolf and Harp offers a thoughtfully designed space that blends historic charm with modern comfort.

Norway is a small thriving town in the western lakes and mountains region, home to Lake Pennesseewassee, and was named one of the ‘’Best Places’’ in Maine by Downeast Magazine in 2015. As an all-season location, there are year-round activities such as hiking, biking, snowshoeing, skiing, dog sledding, boating, shops, and restaurants in the charming setting of downtown Norway. Just 1 hour to Portland,1 hour to North Conway, and only 40 minutes to Sunday River in Bethel.

Owners

Dustin Burnett and Darren Elder

Owners Dustin Burnett and Darren Elder have been friends and business partners for over 12 years. Elder is a lifetime Maine native with his wife and daughter, while Burnett, his wife, and three children hail from Nashville, TN. The two friends have worked together over the years within the music industry and have always discussed their dreams to own a brick-and-mortar business within the hospitality industry.

When the historic Pleasant Street Restaurant in Norway Maine became available, the two did not hesitate to buy the incredible property. They saw the vision to improve and expand the business into a luxury venue.

2021 was spent remodeling and making additions to the property. Burnett focuses on interior design and experience, while Elder is the day-to-day manager of the property updates.

Burnett and Elder have combined their experience to create a truly one-of-a-kind venue that is flexible for large events, weddings, and smaller intimate high-end chef dinners. Any of which can be held indoors or outdoors all four seasons of the year.
